The Femmeporium: BFA Show
April 2023 | Curated, Designed, Installed
The Femmeporium is a store that applies femme theory to design practice in order to
make joyful products. To be femme is to engage with femininity for its own sake, without the
pressures of social expectation. How can design, an industrial art application, similarly defy expectation?
The Femmeporium explores this question by creating joyful products across a variety of mediums. Work in the show is multimodal, existing as pillows, prints, and toys. This variety of items
allows viewers to interact with the show on their own terms, finding what makes them
delighted and reveling in it.
